(Memphis) As the Memphis Tigers prepare to play in the NCAA tournament Thursday in Auburn Hills Michigan, fans in Memphis are determining how they will be cheering on the Tigers.
Many University of Memphis students said they don’t think they will be able to make the trip.
“I wish I could go but unfortunately spring break is over and school is back in session,” said Shane Garner.
“I’d love to go though, it’d be really cool to make it I don’t think I’d be able to make it Michigan,” said Clinton Finley.
The trip to Auburn Hills is 12 hours.
You can fly and Bank of Bartlett is coordinating a $1,500 package on a chartered flight.
“We have a great trip planned where we fly directly into Detroit, take a bus into the arena and with transfers to and from the game and to the hotel,” said Harold Byrd with Bank of Bartlett.
“We’ve gone everywhere from San Francisco, to New York, to Austin Texas. So we are happy this year to go with the Tigers to Auburn Hills Michigan,” added Byrd.
The University has access to 550 tickets that will be sold to students, administration and to Tiger Scholarship Fund members.
Ticket packages online are running out which will cost you several hundred dollars.
Tiger fans that can’t make the game and have work or class plan on being there in spirit.
“I hope there are many tiger fans that do show up out there,” added Finley.
