Tigers take a huge tumble in the polls after loss to Georgia

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — After Saturday’s loss to Georgia, the Memphis Tigers took a tumble in the latest polls.

They didn’t just fall out of the Top 10, the Tigers fell out of the Top 20 to No. 21 in the AP Poll and No. 22 in the Coaches Poll after the home loss to the Bulldogs.

As a matter of fact, this week’s AP Poll has lots of changes, just not at the top, as the top three remain the same: Gonzaga, Duke and Kansas.

Baylor and Auburn are up to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Six through 10 has Butler, unbeaten San Diego State, Michigan State, Oregon and Florida State. The Seminoles were the biggest mover, up eight spots this week.

The Tigers at No. 21 made the biggest drop, down 12 spots as they get set to hit the road Thursday to take on the only other American Athletic Conference team in the poll, 13-1 No. 23 Wichita State.

At No. 14, Kentucky is one of just two SEC teams in this week’s poll, although Arkansas is just outside the Top 25.
