Tipton County deputies searching for suspect who shot sleeping woman

BRIGHTON, Tenn. — The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early Saturday morning shooting that left one person injured.

Investigators determined the suspect shot from outside the home; the bullet then traveled through an interior wall into the victim’s bedroom and hit her while she was sleeping.

The victim, Dana Rapp, was shot in the hip and is in stable condition at Regional Medical Center, according to the TCSO.

It happened around 1 a.m. Saturday in the 5700 block of Old Memphis Road in Brighton. Eight people, including children, were in the home at the time, according to the TCSO.

Detectives were unable to get a description of the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle.
