MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Step inside the Bass Pro pyramid, and you may forget you are in the middle of a bustling city.
Lana McDonald has worked at Memphis hotels for years.
So, when an opportunity came up to manage the pyramid’s Big Cyprus Lodge, she could not say no.
“We have put together a wonderful hospitality staff. I’m really excited about our team,” she said.
McDonald said that team is fully staffed for now and ready to run the wilderness themed lodge.
As for the rest of the pyramid, merchandise was on the shelves, fish were swimming in the swamp and the 28-story elevator was running.
McDonald said the final push to open was hectic, but she was excited for the work to pay off.
“We know when people come in and see this amazing place, they’re going to say wonderful things about us,” McDonald said.
Bass Pro is scheduled to host an opening event Wednesday night and will be open for customers to start shopping Thursday.
