MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three people are facing drug charges after police say they found methamphetamine in a car during a traffic stop.

On July 5 at 4:46 p.m., while assisting in Operation Code Zero, the Crump Station Task Force saw a maroon Subaru Legacy with tinted windows that obstructed the view into the vehicle traveling northbound on New Getwell Road.

A traffic stop was initiated and the tint showed to be darker than the legal limit allows.

The driver of the vehicle, Steve Jackson, and a passenger, James Edward, both had warrants for their arrest.

Officers searched the vehicle with consent from the owner and passenger, Jessica Jackson, and discovered scales, syringes and methamphetamine.

James Edwards, 29, was charged with possession of a controlled substance of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $75,000.
