MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man will be charged with murder after a shooting that killed three people in Blytheville on Saturday night.
According to the Blytheville Police Department, Marlon Tucker, of St. Louis, shot and killed three people at a home on Parkway around 11:15 p.m.
Officers originally received a call for a domestic situation with a female who had an arm injury. Moments later, police received calls of a shooting at the same home.
When officers arrived, they found several people with gun shot wounds inside the home.
The victims have been identified as Oscar Lane, Sr., Joyce Adams and Virginia Bailey. There is a fourth victim who is recovering from injuries.
Police say all the victims knew each other and were either related or in relationships with each other.
Priscilla Williams is Bailey’s mother and says she leaves behind five children.
“It’s just awful,” Priscilla Williams said. “I just want the violence to stop here in Blytheville. It’s been going on for too long and I just want it to stop.”
In BPD’s press release, a couple at the home got into an altercation which prompted the original 911 call.
Williams say her daughter was involved in the altercation and had her two-month-old baby with her when she was shot.
“It was her boyfriend. Her and her boyfriend were into it and the baby was in her mother’s arm and so when they shot, some kind of way, the baby was right there and the baby was not hit at all,” Williams said.
After the first call, Tucker allegedly began shooting but was not involved in the original altercation. At this time, there is no explanation to why Tucker supposedly opened fire.
Police say Tucker stole a vehicle from the scene and fled.
Around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, the Missouri Highway Patrol notified Blytheville police they had taken Tucker into custody. When he was arrested, he was in the stolen vehicle and had several firearms in the car.
Detectives traveled to Missouri to question Tucker who did not provide an explanation for the shooting.
Blytheville police say they plan on extraditing Tucker back to Arkansas to formally charge him with murder.
