MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An early morning crash involving a Memphis Police Department cruiser sent at least two people to the hospital.

According to authorities, an officer was responding to a prowler call when he struck a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander near North Watkins and Frayser Boulevard.

The officer was taken to Baptist East Hospital while the front passenger in the Mitsubishi was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

They are all expected to be okay.

The officer was cited for disregarding a red light.
