MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two individuals are behind bars for their roles in a stabbing that sent a woman to the hospital in critical condition.
Michael Weston and Yolanda Tucker were both arrested on Sunday, charged with aggravated assault.
According to a witness, the victim spilled Rotel dip inside a unit at the Bent Tree Apartments Saturday, resulting in an argument between the victim and Tucker.
Weston handed Tucker a pocketknife and that’s when she attacked, police said.
The victim was stabbed in the chest.
“That’s stupid. The world is good, but the people in the world just so messed up,” one Bent Tree resident Monday.
Police said the victim was attempting to drive herself to the hospital when she wrecked at Winchester and Millbranch.
She was rushed to Methodist University Hospital in critical condition.
Police said Weston was not truthful to officers about who he was initially.
He reportedly used his brother’s name.
Both Weston and Tucker are scheduled to be in court on Tuesday.
Their bonds were set at $25,000 and $20,000, respectively.
