(Memphis) A former assistant principal and a former teacher have admitted to taking certification tests for other teachers in exchange for cash.

Carlos Shaw is a former assistant principal at the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering.

He also taught at Carver High School and Booker T. Washington High School.

Shaw admits to taking at least ten tests for payments ranging from $200 to $700.

Shantell Shaw worked as a teacher at Trezevant High School.

She admits to taking up to 15 tests, making about $8,000.

Carlos Shaw and Shantell Shaw are NOT related.

They both say they were recruited to take the tests by Clarence Mumford, the accused ringleader of the cheating scheme.

Four people have now pled guilty in the scandal that dates back to 1995.
