Two people found shot dead in vehicle near Memphis airport

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people were found shot dead in a vehicle near the airport Thursday, Memphis Police said, and they are still looking for a suspect.

Police were on the scene at Dwight and Imogene at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Neighbors said a white Cadillac plowed through a fence, and when officers showed up they made that gruesome discovery. Inside the car, officers found an unresponsive male and female with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Lessie James, a resident of the area for more than 30 years, watched the case unfold. He was on his way to the store around 11 a.m. when he heard commotion.

“I heard about four shots,” he said. “Next thing I know, I saw the car crash into the fence over there. Whoever did it, I hope they catch them.”

Officials have not released any information about a possible suspect.  WREG is working to learn more.
