CORDOVA, Tenn. — Two people were killed in a shooting at a Cordova apartment complex early Thursday morning.
Memphis Police spent the majority of the morning at The View at Shelby Farms apartment complex trying to determine why two people were found dead inside one of the units.
Resident Brandon Jackson said early Thursday morning he heard a single gunshot outside his apartment.
“I heard it. Checked my cameras and didn’t see anything where my cameras were angled at, but I heard it. I know it was from the backside,” he said.
Memphis Police said a man and woman were found shot to death inside a unit on Stafford Circle. Family members of one of the victims were seen talking to detectives, desperate to know what happened to their loved one.
Police said preliminary information indicates it was a domestic incident- possibly a murder and suicide.
Jackson said shootings have happened in the complex before but never so close to him and his family.
“You’ll hear it back that way,” he said. “Just shooting in the air or you’ll have people going through here speeding, doing crazy stuff.”
WREG learned these apartments were once known as the Country Squire Apartments where at one point violence was no stranger.
