(Jackson, MS) A disturbing discovery has put a construction project on hold at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Testing in the area, where the hospital planned to build a parking garage, revealed 1,000 bodies buried on the site.

None of the bodies have been identified but they are believed to have been patients at the Mississippi State Mental Asylum 100 years ago.

Moving the bodies will reportedly cost about $3 million.
