MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The University of Memphis will add two new faculty positions to its roster thanks to the state of Tennessee.

According to a news release, the university was given $2.6 million to hire a veterinary pathologist and a pre-clinical orthopedic or toxicology researcher.

The new positions would working with the university, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and TriMetis Life Scienes.

“These new faculty will contribute both to bio science teaching and research advances on our campus and at UTHSC as well as medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and additional academic research in the region,” said Dr. Andy Meyers, the interim Vice President for Research.

The university said it would begin the hiring process this fall.
