MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police have identified the man found dead inside a burned out car in Raleigh.
The body was psotively identified as Denair Love, 27.
Police found Love’s body off of Hawkins Mill Road, which is a known dumping ground on Thursday.
“A lot of police, fire truck, ambulance. Everything was over here,” said Antonio Landford.
Landford said he saw the commotion when he was coming home from work Thursday night.
Police tape was still on the side of the road, where it once blocked off a burning car with a body inside.
All that was left Friday were charred remains.
Police said the body was in the passenger seat and the vehicle was badly burnt.
Officers couldn’t find a VIN to identify the owner of the car but did find a license plate.
They told WREG they tried running the tags in every state but nothing came up.
Neighbors said police drive through every now and then, but these secluded rural roads can attract the wrong crowd.
“They really are. It’s dark. There are no street lights. Anything could happen,” Landford explained.
People we spoke with hoped police catch who ever did this soon.
