MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  A crash involving three cars proved fatal Thursday afternoon.

According to Memphis Police, the accident happened at Houston Levee and Highway 64.

Witnesses told investigators one of the cars crossed the line into on coming traffic.

The three vehicles collided, sending an SUV airborne.

Two people were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Another was dead when emergency crews arrived.

One local WREG spoke to said while it was sad, it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

“Kids and motorcycles are worse down here,” said Bert Poole. “Some of them come down that hill, I bet they’re doing 100 mph down here. It’s going to be more killed. It’s going to be more.”

No word yet on any charges in the case.
