MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One of the victims who was killed in an East Memphis hit-and-run earlier this month has been identified.
According to the Memphis Police, Michael “Mike” Dodson was one of two people killed during the two-vehicle crash on October 8.

Dodson was a husband, a brother and deemed by his Neil’s Music Room co-workers as “the best cook ever.”
Monday, Dodson’s co-workers remembered his 10 years of service, his helpful and friendly personality and his dedication to his work.
The accident occurred on Getwell Road and Elliston Road a little after 3:30 in the morning.
Dodson’s co-workers spoke with WREG and said that he was leaving work in an Uber when a speeding car ran the light and hit them.
MPD said the car Dodson was in flipped over and landed in the drainage ditch at Getwell and Elliston.
Workers nearby said the intersection is sadly known for its dangerous drivers.
“They run down here even though that school is there,” one worker said.
“Almost every day I witness a wreck and they just keep going. It’s sad to see,” another worker said.
Memphis Police have not released the name of the other victim nor the driver of the second vehicle. They also said that they couldn’t confirm Dodson was riding in an Uber when the crash occurred.
