MARION, Ark. — A shocking video showed kids out of control at Marion High School while a substitute watched.

The video, which was recently posted online by a student, showed a sophomore biology class with kids blasting music on the smart board, rapping, jumping on tables and desks, and even fighting towards the end of the clip.

The superintendent confirmed to WREG the class had a substitute teacher who did nothing to try and stop the situation and may have even participated in it.

The district uses an outside vendor to get substitutes.

“They had a sub who essentially wanted to be a cool sub and just let the kids do what they do,” one Marion student said.

Students told WREG some kids were suspended.

The superintendent could only tell us disciplinary action was taken.

“There were a lot of kids in that class that didn’t take part in it at all. It was a small part of the class, a small part of the school. So, it doesn’t reflect the school at all,” one student said.

The superintendent said they have contacted the vendor and told them they never want the woman to work as a substitute for their schools again.
