MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have asked for the public’s help solving an armed robbery case that took place at an Exxon Hop-In. According to reports on Saturday, June 27 two men entered the store on South Third Street. While one man pretended to buy a piece of candy to distract the clerk, the second pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and jumped over the counter. Police said that man opened fire on the clerk, striking him five times before he fell to the floor. The suspect who shot him grabbed a handgun the clerk had reached for and fled the scene with his accomplice. The suspects were captured on video. No word yet on the condition of the clerk.
