WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — Jason Larry has called one hospital room home for the last five days, as he recovers from being stabbed seven times.

“He tried to kill me. I don’t deserve this,” he said.

It all happened Friday at a home on Rice Street in West Memphis.

Larry said he was owed some money after working for the family business.

When he went to his brother-in-law, Timothy Clark, for his money, they two got into an argument.

“I tried to negotiate with him and talk with him, but before I knew it he had turned around and swung and punched me. I seen the screwdriver but I didn’t know he was going to stab me,” he recalled.

Police said Larry was stabbed with a small screwdriver all over his upper body.

“I got stabbed under my arm. He stabbed me in my right artery right there,” he said pointing. “He stabbed me in my right chest.”

Clark wasn’t home on Wednesday when WREG stopped by.

However he gave his side of the story to police, saying it was all in self-defense.

“He’s claiming to police that you hit him first,” said WREG’s Michael Quander.

“No sir. No sir. If I did hit him first, I didn’t have no weapon for him to stab me like an animal,” Larry replied.

After looking at both sides, prosecutors decided to back away from filing criminal charges, something that didn’t sit well with Larry.

“I want somebody to help me take care of the issue. West Memphis is not doing it. West Memphis did not lock him up. They didn’t go by the right decisions and he still at large,” he said.

Larry said he feared that once he is released from the hospital, things could get worse.
