MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police need your help solving another violent crime that resulted in a 13-year-old getting shot — the fourth child shot or stabbed since Sunday.

Memphis Police say around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday they responded to a shooting inside the Gospel Gardens Apartments, formerly known as the Tulane Apartments in Whitehaven.

The victim’s brother, who witnessed the incident, told police his brother was hit by a stray bullet.

Reports say a witness said the shooting stemmed from an argument between a man and woman. People living nearby said the two had been arguing throughout the day, but soon those shots with words turned into shots with bullets.

The witness told police the man got into what may have been a white Toyota Corolla. The woman then got into a white Chevy Impala and followed the man.

Once he got to the front entrance, the witness says the man hopped out of the car and fired six shots at the woman’s car, and one of the bullets hit the child.

The child was rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition but is now expected to be OK. No one else was reportedly injured.

According to reports, officers were unable to contact either person involved in the argument at the scene of the crime.
