MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Trash pick up has been delayed in Memphis this week.

There was no service Monday due to the holiday or Tuesday due to the weather.

Crews are reporting for duty Wednesday.

Depending on weather conditions, your trash could or could not be picked up.

Sanitation workers feel conditions are too dangerous for them and their machinery.

Friday could be another iffy day due to predictions of sleet and freezing rain.

The city said “every effort will be made” to provide regular service by Saturday night.

Customers should place their garbage and recycling at the curb on their normal collection day and leave it until crews come by.

Yard debris will not be collected this week.
