UPDATE: Memphis Police say the victim in this shooting was a 13-year-old girl. She was still listed in critical condition Monday morning.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said officers are investigating a shooting that happened in downtown Memphis on Sunday evening.

According to MPD, officers arrived to the scene on the corner of Union and Monroe around 7 p.m. and found a female suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

MPD said the subjects responsible were last seen occupying a white 1994-1995 Ford Crown Victoria and a newer model pick up east on Union.

According to a police report, a woman said she and the victim were trying to ride scooters at the intersection when the shooters drove by. Witnesses heard about six shots. They may have been shooting at a black truck nearby.

Police were unable to provide a description of the suspect.
