MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was killed in a shooting Thursday night in Orange Mound.
It happened at the corner of Park Avenue and Grand Street outside the A-1 Speedy Corner store around 11 p.m. Witnesses say there were a number of people at the store when someone fired 20 to 30 shots.
Police identified the woman killed as Victoria Danner, 28.
“That`s my girl, that’s my girl. I miss you, boo,” said a man who says he was with Danner earlier at the store and watched the young mother of five take her last breath.
“I kept calling her name, Tae Tae, just start back, breathe back, and then she just — man, cold blooded.”
A window could be seen broken out of a vehicle still in the parking lot of the store. The victim was found on the ground behind the car.
We don’t know how many times she was hit and police have not said if she was the intended target.
In August of 2017 the Speedy Corner was forced to close it doors after police witnessed drug sales, prostitution and underage drinking on the property. Owners were allowed to reopen after they agreed to hire security and upgrade cameras.
