MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Witnesses helped Memphis police nab one of the two men they said held up a woman at gunpoint in her driveway.
It happened on Good Friday in the 6600 block of Chesapeake Drive in Hickory Hill.
Neighbors said the victim had just arrived home and was getting her child out of her car when she was ambushed by the suspects.
Police said they got away with her purse, keys and two cell phones.
“I think it’s crazy because me and my husband we are hard-working parents and I have three sons, and I wouldn’t want anyone coming here and taking anything that I have,” said Princess Evans.
Evans lived across the street and said her son was questioned right after the robbery.
She’s glad someone was able to help police identify one of the alleged robbers.
Damien Brewer, 18, was arrested and now faces charges of aggravated robbery.
Brewer was also arrested back in March for carrying a loaded weapon.
Police have not released a description of the second suspect.
