Woman says she was kidnapped, raped and beaten in Whitehaven

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police said they are searching for a man they say kidnapped, beat and raped a woman in Whitehaven.

It all happened early Tuesday morning, but police still haven’t named any suspects.

They said they need your help.

A serene Whitehaven neighborhood witnessed a scary scene Tuesday morning.

Bridgette Williams knew something was wrong when she heard her son screaming

She explained, “When I ran downstairs I see a young lady on my porch in just her bra and underwear shorts, and she was bleeding everywhere.”

That woman told the police and Williams, she was parked at the Mill Creek Apartments off Millbranch when a man attacked.

Williams added; “She said she was asleep in her car, and someone knocked the window out, beat her with a crowbar and put her in her trunk.”

The victim told police the suspect drove her to Polly Williams Park and raped her, but she was able to get away and run for help.

That’s how she made it to Wood Glade Lane, at Williams’ front door.

“Her hair looked like she had stepped out of the shower, but she was dripping with blood,” she explained.

Williams told WREG she is a nurse and was able to tend to some of the victims wounds until help arrived.

The victim said he took off in her car at the corner of Auburn and Craft.

He was last seen driving her white 1998 Nissan Maxima with Tennessee tags reading S7116D.

Williams said her door wasn’t the first one the victim knocked on that morning, but she’s glad she could help.
