Final household results released recently by Nielsen Media Research show that WREG News Channel 3 is the most watched station in Memphis in virtually all local news time periods as measured during the November survey period.
At 4:30 a.m., WREG wins with a 3.0 rating/9 share. Second place WMC edged out Fox 13 with a 1.9 rating/6 share and Fox 13 had a 1.8 rating/5 share . Winning for WREG continues at 5 a.m. where the station has a 4.7 rating/13 share. Second place WMC has a 3.3 rating/9 share.
At 6 a.m., WREG wins again with an 8.0 rating/18 share, second place WMC has a 7.4 rating/16 share, Fox 13 has a 5.5 rating/12 share, and Local 24 News has a 1.5 rating/3 share.
WREG’s Live at 9 beats Fox 13’s Good Morning Memphis. WREG has a 5.0 rating/12 share, Fox has a 4.7 rating/9 share. WMC airs the Today Show is in third place with a 4.0 rating/9 share.
At noon, WREG wins by a near two-to-one margin over second place. WREG scores an 8.2 rating/18 share vs. WMC’s 4.3 rating/9 share.
At 4 p.m., WREG takes the victory with a 7.1 rating/13 share vs. WMC’s 4.3 rating/8 share.
At 5 p.m., WREG wins with an 8.9 rating/15 share. Second place WMC has a 7.6 rating/13 share, Fox 13 has a 4.1 rating/7 share and Local 24 News has a 1.9 rating/3 share.
Only at 6 p.m. did WREG come in second place, and even at that, the margin of separation was slim. At 6 p.m., WREG has an 8.7 rating/13 share vs. WMC’s 9.1 rating/14 share. Local 24 News has a 1.4 rating/2 share.
At 10 p.m. WREG wins with an 11.5 rating/17 share, second place WMC has a 9.0 rating/14 share, Fox 13 has a 2.9 rating/4 share and LOCAL 24 News has a 1.9 rating/3 share.
Additionally, WREG won every weekend local news time period and won the Friday 10:15 p.m. sports show, defeating WMC substantially.
