MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Results are in for absentee ballots and about 90 percent of early voters. In the mayor’s race, Jim Strickland had the plurality with 21,588 votes, 42.05 percent of the total. A C Wharton was behind him, with 11,255 votes (21.92 percent), followed by Harold Collins (9,475 votes, 18.46 percent) and Mike Williams ( 8,029 votes, 15.64 percent). All other mayoral candidates got less than 1 percent of the vote.
