Zimm was captured July 11.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — You could say the exhibit where a 3-year-old monkey broke free will go down in history.

It caused quite the commotion at the Memphis Zoo.

Believe it or not, Zimm the monkey is now a celebrity, and when we say celeb, we’ve got the proof to back it.

Not only does she have her own Twitter page with nearly 1500 follower, the search for her has gained worldwide attention.

Her story was trending on Google and Twitter!

People we talked to said they just wanted her to return safe.

“I hope they get her pretty soon it’s super hot!” said one visitor.

“Get her maybe like her favorite trainer or keeper to draw her out,” said another.

“A banana on a string that would work!” suggested 7-year-old Hayden.

Unfortunately, it’s not that simple.

Zimm got in an large underground tunnel used for storm water.

Staff had to go section by section looking in manholes and using cameras in their search for the missing monkey.

As they cleared one section, they blocked it off.

Visitors WREG spoke to were hoping to get a glimpse of the spunky monkey, and even help the zoo catch her.

“We are going to be looking for her. We hope to find it,” one zoo visitor told us.

Zookeepers said they would be making some changes since she likely will try it again.

“She’s very smart,” said the spokesperson.
