Conflict over the Confederacy.

It won’t happen anytime soon, but the Memphis City Council took the first steps this week by unanimously passing an ordinance for removing the statue and remains of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest from Health Sciences Park.

Based on the reaction WREG received, it’s safe to say the vote did not reflect the will of the entire community.

Is there the political will to see this initiative through?
