The annual Kids Count report is out and the news is not good for Mid-South children.

Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi are all in the bottom 12 with Mississippi dead last and Tennessee dropping this year from number 36 to 38.

The report considered four different factors: economic well-being, education, health and family, and community.

Meri Armour, with the Urban Child Institute here in Memphis, stopped by to talk about the report.
