Let’s just be honest, Opera music probably isn’t what you’re listening to on the radio.
You may even think it’s a little too high brow.
But Opera can be fun and Opera Memphis has set out to prove it with 30 Days of Opera “pop up” performances.
Ned Canty heads up Opera Memphis.
He’s here with singers Caitlin McKechney and Justin Hopkins.
Opera Memphis will open its 2013-2014 season for the second year in a row with 30 Days of Opera presented by Evolve Bank & Trust, a month-long event full of free opera performances staged at various public venues around Memphis and Shelby County.
Free performances will be presented every day in September and will lead up to the company’s season-opening production of Rigoletto on Oct. 3 and 5.
