A new organization is out to prove Memphis Music Matters.
The group was set up to replace the city-sponsored Memphis Music Commission, which was disbanded by Mayor Jim Strickland earlier this year.
Memphis Music Matters is led by Johnnie Walker, who oversaw the Music Commission for 30 years.
Memphis’ own 4Soul Band performed at Live at 9 Monday.
