A new movie theater is open in Memphis, one that’s dedicated to showcasing diversity in film.
You’ll remember many headlines recently, especially around the Oscars, about the lack of black actors and stories on screen.
The Baobab Filmhouse will be to African-American filmmaking what Memphis’ Black Repertory Theatre, Hattiloo, has been to performing arts in the Bluff City.
Both are run by founder Ekundayo Bandele.
