A Memphis band from the 70’s laid the cornerstone for alternative music. R.E.M., The Replacements, The Flaming Lips and others name “Big Star” as a big influence on their style. But even though their albums are thought of today as masterpieces, they never achieved any real commercial success. Jon Hornyak and Susan Marshall are with the Recording Academy. They’re hosting a special screening of “Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me”.
