Blended sentencing could keep offenders in the juvenile system until they’re 25

Shelby County has a new Chief Deputy at the Sheriff’s Department.

Floyd Bonner, a 35-year veteran with the department, is now the second in command.

Under his watch, he said he wants to keep offenders in the juvenile system until they’re 25-years-old.

It’s called blended sentencing and has the backing of Shelby County Sheriff Bill Oldham.
