Cherry tomato shortcakes by Chef Elle
Ingredients:
- Six biscuits
- 1 1/2 pounds small tomatoes
- 1 pound dark cherries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup grenadine
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest
Procedure:
- Using a paring knife, remove core from tomatoes. Cut them in half and remove seeds.
- Pit and halve cherries.
- Add tomatoes, cherries and remaining ingredients to a bowl. Gently stir, cover with a lid and refrigerate.
Goat cheese cream by Chef Elle
Ingredients:
- 12 ounces heavy cream
- 6 ounces goat cheese
- 1/4 cup sugar
Procedure:
- Place sugar, cream and goat cheese in mixing bowl. Using the whisk attachment, start speed on low and gradually increase to high. Whisk until stiff.
- Transfer to a container, cover and refrigerate until ready to assemble.
Using a serrated knife, cut the top of the biscuits and spoon on a mound of goat cheese cream. Add cherries, cherry tomatoes and syrup onto cream and around the biscuit. Garnish with golden thyme and tarragon. (Yields six servings)

I’ll show you versatile. The cream you whipped up in two minutes would be a pleasant surprise smeared between your favorite sugar cookies or even on top of cinnamon rolls. Ingredients:
- 6 ounces ginger syrup, cold
- 9 ounces sparkling water, cold
- 4 ounces chocolate liqueur
Procedure: Pour ginger syrup into glass and add sparkling water and liqueur. Stir and enjoy.
Made in the Shade by Chef Elle (yields two drinks)
Ingredients:
- 3 ounces lemon syrup
- 1 ounce dry gin
- Prosecco
- Fresh thyme
Procedure: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, lemon syrup, gin and thyme. Secure the top and shake a few times. Pour into glasses and enjoy.
Community Room by Chef Elle (yields four drinks)
Ingredients:
- 16 ounces fresh pineapple juice
- 8 ounces Moscato
- 2 ounces tequila
Procedure: Starting with chilled pineapple juice and chilled Moscato, pour equal amounts into well-chilled glasses. Finish with Tequila and enjoy.
Easy Solutions
If hosting a crowd, chill syrups. Also, everything except nonbubbly spirits can be premixed. Just be sure to store in an airtight container with a lid.
