The air hasn’t cleared in the debate over marijuana in Memphis.
The City Council will debate an ordinance tomorrow that would decriminalize small amounts of pot.
It would allow police officers to issue a misdemeanor citation and a $50 fine for a half-ounce of weed or less.
Last week, its sponsor, Councilman Berlin Boyd, added a provision for civil courts to allow them to sentence offenders to community service.
Memphis City Council members Janis Fullilove and Frank Colvett are here with a preview of tomorrow’s meeting.
