One issue in the campaign is the gay marriage debate, especially after President Obama embraced same-sex marriage earlier this spring.  It prompted one local pastor to organize a national group of ministers to speak out against President Obama’s stand.  But over two dozen other local pastors have united for marriage equality forming the organization “Clergy Defending Rights for All”.
