(WREG-TV) The new Hattiloo Theatre is under construction in Overton Square.
The black repertoire theatre plans to open in 2014.
Sing His Praises is a gospel concert benefiting the theatre and is sponsored by Baptist Memorial Health Care.
The concert is Thursday, January 16th at the Orpheum Theatre.
The event will feature the Miracle Temple Choir, Destanie Jennings, Donte Everhart & ETYM, The Barnes Family, and Deborah Manning as Mahalia Jackson.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door (ticketing fees apply). Group sales are available at the Orpheum’s Box office. For more information, call 901-525-3000.
