We still don’t have any idea when or even if Memphis Police will begin wearing body cameras.
Mayor Jim Strickland has put the cameras on indefinite hold because of a need for training on how to use them, money for the equipment and people to retrieve, store, and view the video.
District Attorney Amy Weirich said her office alone will need $1 million to handle body cams.
