MEMPHIS, Tenn.  — There’s a dangerous shortage in Memphis that could be life-threatening — many shelves at Lifeblood are bare.

They’re critically low on some blood supplies.

And on holidays, there’s always an increased need. Janet Shipman is on Lifeblood’s Board of Directors.

Lifeblood is critically low on O-Negative blood, the universal blood type used in trauma situations.

Its current donation drive – Mash Bash – has begun in donor centers and mobile blood drives.

Mash Bash runs through August 30. It was created as a way for Lifeblood and its donors to show support for both veterans and active service members in our community.

For more information, or to find a donor center near you, call 1-888-LIFEBLOOD.
