August 29  is the 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Nearly 2,000 lives were lost and a million people were displaced when their homes and businesses were destroyed in the storm.

Severe weather events cause billions of dollars in damages every year but many of us aren’t prepared financially for such a catastrophic disaster.

Kathy Thurmond-Edwards, an insurance agent with State Farm, stopped by to tell us how we can be more prepared.
