Drop the Mic poetry competition honors legacy of voting rights activists

This week marks the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which prohibits racial discrimination at the polls.

The National Civil Rights Museum is hosting a poetry slam this month to honor the legacy of those who fought and died for the right to vote.

The competition draws national attention.
