As we’ve reported WREG uncovered a backlog of untested rape kits in Memphis.
At one point, 12,000 kits were waiting to be tested.
Now, more than half of those are either sitting in labs waiting to be analyzed or have been tested.
The city is now moving into a new phase, to try and engage the whole community to be more responsive and responsible for ending sexual violence.
