A Senate committee is expected to take up Tennessee’s controversial de-annexation bill.
The bill targets cities like Memphis and would let voters in some areas decide whether to de-annex their neighborhood.
The full Senate was scheduled to vote on the bill Monday, but Senate leaders chose to send it back to committee instead.
Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland has vowed to fight the bill if it passes.
