The Longest Day

June 21st marks the longest day of the year, but the summer solstice is not just noteworthy to meteorologists.  The longest day is also important to anyone who is aging because it is an all-day effort to raise money for Alzheimer research and prevention.

Lori Pope is with the American Contract Bridge League, which puts together the event, and Richard Oshlag is a bridge player and caregiver for his wife, who has Alzheimer.

Memphian stars in new ‘Superfly’ remake

Memphians are among the first to see the remake of the cult classic “Superfly”, thanks to a special preview tonight at the Malco Paradiso. And when the big screen lights up, one of our own will be on it: actor and musician Kia Shine grew up in Memphis and even graduated from Overton High School.
