Today’s Furry Friend is Shawnee. She’s a Terrier, Jack Russell/Mix. A good Samaritan found her as a stray and dropped her off at the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. She had severe skin allergies that weren’t taken care of, causing her to lose hair on her chest and hind legs. Shawnee is now on daily skin shots that help a lot, but she’s still a little sensitive. However, she’s very affectionate, loves to give kisses, be held and petted and even wear clothes. Shawnee learns new tricks very easily and already knows how to sit and stay. She’s good around some dogs, but not all and would be best in a home with no young children. If you’re interested in adopting Shawnee, call the Humane Society at 937-3900. Her adoption fee is $150 and includes being spayed, microchipped and all her vaccinations.     Memphis Humane Society
