New York Times guacamole transformation receives backlash

NEW YORK– Avocados have been taking a lot of heat lately.

First, the drought in California has all put dried up the supply causing prices to skyrocket across the country.

CNN is now reporting the New York Times has ousted Avocados, proposing it even be taken out of guacamole.

In its place: peas.

New York Times Food Columnist Melissa Clark recently sparked outrage and shock on social media after proposing the change.

Not only does it reportedly add sweetness to the dish, it also adds a nice green color that can only be described as “vibrant”.

Guacamole purist, like the Republican Party of Texas,  claimed the move was the equivalent to declaring war on the state.

The peas vs. guacamole debate became so heated, it even reached the White House.
