This week, the White House touted a proposal it said could instantly give millions of Americans a raise.

Right now, Americans who make more than $23,660 a year for their 40 hour work week are not eligible for overtime pay.

Under a new Labor Department rule, that salary cap would be raised to $50,440 per year supposedly making overtime available to 5 million more Americans!

But it may not work out that way.
