MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The deadly flooding in Louisiana has the local Red Cross asking for volunteers.
If you can go to southern Louisiana to help, you’ll need to attend a class at the Red Cross of the Mid-South on 1399 Madison Ave. from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, must pass a background check and motor vehicle check and must be in good health.
All volunteers need to commit to two weeks in Louisiana.
The Red Cross will provide the cost of travel, lodging and meals for volunteers.
If you have more questions or want to register for the class, contact Tiffany at 901-356-6240 or email WestTN@redcross.org
If you can’t go to Louisiana, you can still help the relief effort by donating at redcross.org or 1-800-REDCROSS. You can also text LAFLOODS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
